Drygmy Farming Guide (2024)

The purpose of this guide is to show how to farm gems and other items using Drygmies from Ars Nouveau.

Making Ars Nouveau progress[]

Wont go too in-depth, just touching on what's needed.

Make a volcanic source link, this will be your source generation for crafting stuff. It runs on any fuel item, but Blazing Archwood gives the most by far. You can find the trees in the Archwood forest (its the red tree).

You can add more volcanic source links to speed up generation if needed. You'll need a source jar nearby along with a few imbuement chambers to make source gems. Source isn't needed for source gems, but it speeds the process up significantly.

With a way to make source gems now, you need to make the following things:

• 1x Enchanting Apparatus
• 1x Arcane Core, 2 if using villagers
• 8x Arcane Pedestal
• 1x Ritual Brazier

Next, make a ritual of containment, and save it for later. You'll need to get a manipulation essence either by crafting or from the scribes table quest.

Making Drygmy charms[]

Now you need to make 1 to 20 Drygmy charms.

Next, setup the Enchanting Apparatus on top of the Arcane Core. The pedestals need to be within 3 block of the Core. Either the Core or Apparatus needs to be on the same height as the pedestals.

Each Drygmy charm needs:

• 3x source gems
• 1x carrot
• 1x wheat
• 1x apple
• 1x seed (of any kind, modded or vanilla)
• 1x fish (of any kind, modded or vanilla)
• 1x Drygmy shard

Drygmy shards are pain to get normally, which requires finding a wild Drygmy and dropping a Wilden Horn for it. Your best bet is to either find them in loot chests, or if you have the emeralds, make a shady villager. The workstation is an Arcane Core, and there's a 2/5 chance that their expert trades will have them.

Ritual of Containment[]

To start, place the ritual brazier in a 7x7 hole or walled area. Use the Ritual of Containment on the brazier and right click it again to activate. You'll need a source jar to reactivate the ritual. The containment jar and mobs need to be within 3 block of the brazier.

To easily get mobs into the ritual, use Quantum Catchers from Forbidden & Arcanus, or an Ender Lead from Apotheosis.

Treasure Goblin[]

This is the key to the apotheosis gem farm, you'll need to get a Gem of the Twilight Forest in order to spawn him. You can either setup a quick spawner or manually farm for it (you can only get this gem inside Twilight Forest).

Once you get a gem and get a treasure goblin to spawn, pick it up with the Quantum Catcher or Ender Lead and put him in a containment jar.

Drygmy Farm[]

At a minimum, you need 1 mossy cobblestone, 1 source jar and a storage block (either a chest or backpack). Right click the mossy cobble with Drygmy charm to spawn it (if you need to move them, killing them will drop the charm). This will create a Drygmy Henge, and summon the Drygmy.

They will pull drops from whatever mob or containment jar is within a 10 block radius of the Henge block. To improve the amount of loot pulled from the treasure goblin, you'll need to put jarred mobs that dont have a loot pool, ie Silverfish, Wandering Traders, Foxes, etc. For a technical explanation of why that is, check this video out.

For automating the source required, i would recommend Agronomic Sourcelink and a large melon/pumpkin farm. The Sourcelink has a radius of 14 (15 if you include the link itself). You can get melons from either the mini melons/melons from a Jungle, or you can get pumpkins from the Autumnal Valley Biome (use a Nature's Compass).

It takes 9 layers of 15x15 to support 20 Drygmys. The key to this farm is the growth ticks of melons/pumpkins still provide source despite not being able to place the block. You'll need to place a source jar near the Sourcelink. You can use a source relay to link the jar from the source farm to the jar in the Drygmy farm. You will need a dominion wand to link the relay to jars. The relay has a radius of 30 blocks.

Dealing with the Treasure Goblin drops[]

This thing makes a lot of junk you'll need to filter out. Here's my setup for filtering drops. For setting backpack filters, you can drag items from JEI.
