To show the world what you can do.Detailed description: Job Purpose: The Android Architect will require technical knowledge of the Android Ecosystem, Android Framework, and Android application development experience. This role will provide direction, guidance and expert advice in the areas of software architectures, frameworks, methodologies, patterns, and best practices. This role will focus on engineering innovative, strategic, and long-term solutions that align with corporate Android platform architecture. This role will work collaboratively with the corporate Android platform team and customer engineering team to establish and maintain technical assets within the enterprise technology portfolio
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Identify architectural constraints for the architectural level (project, domain, application) based on technical and organizational requirements and decompose them to architectural levels below
- Develop software architecture for the assigned architectural level fulfilling the architectural requirements
- Document and communicate architectural decisions based on at least more than one design alternative
- Get approval for architectural changes from the architect at a higher level
- Define, develop and verify all interfaces to related SW architectural elements are complete
- Describe, evaluate and verify dynamic behavior and interaction between the related SW architectural elements
- Analyze the customer requirement and map them to existing architecture or extend the architecture starting from the RFQ/RFI phase
- Analyze and address architectural relevant non-functional requirements
- Develop prototype and execute feasibility studies
- Market research (FOSS - free and open-source alternatives)
- Ensure traceability and consistency to system architecture and to software requirements
- Escalate if software implementation is not according to agreed architectural alternative
- Request all input which is necessary to fulfill the responsibilities
Key Performance Indicators:
- Designing the system to meet all KPI and Compute requirements.
- Accountability for design decisions in the product.
- Effective documentation of design information and communication.
- Perform design and code review to keep track of quality metrics.

- Critical experiences required to be ready for this job:
- 8-14 years of experience on embedded systems, with focus on Android Applications, Framework and Native development
- Strong Java, C/C++ programming skills.
- Understanding of Android Boot Sequence and various Framework module architecture.
- Must have worked on Android framework customization extensively (Window manager, Views, Audio, Video, Power Module, etc.)
- Experience on Android HIDL interfaces and HAL implementation and customizations
- Hands on troubleshooting issues on run-time environment.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
- Proficient in Android System concepts.
- Should have experience on Android development and debugging robust systems
- Proficient in multi threaded programming and middleware solution development on Android environment. Strong in fundamentals of IPC and OS concepts.
- Creative problem-solver capable of creating and reproducing complex software defects
- Good experience in Android internals (Android AOSP P/Q expertise preferred)
- Android build, porting and customization experience
- System level debugging
- Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE)
Special/regulatory requirements if any (e.g. qualification/certification, language capability, extensive travel etc.)
- Bachelors or Post Graduate degree in Computer Science or related Engineering
